-December 14 Letter to Editor of Union Democrat about local drivers needing to use chains after storms

"Chains Required was born about two years ago in the trombonist's living room after a Columbia College jazz band gig with Dave, Bob, Donnie and Dennis as a blues band. After they discovered they didn't have just the right sound, they set out to find people who wanted to be in a dance band. Just by chance, one of the greatest singers around became available - Kerry Tweedy. Soon after, Kerry was joined by another great singer, Jenni Roland. When young pianist Krista White came along, Chains Required was complete. Chains has a full and growing schedule, with more than 20 shows played already this year and 23 booked for the rest of 2009. Opening the Fire on the Mountain Sonora Blues Festival will be one of the highlights of the band's year...Power rock and soul is the Chains Required sound. If you fused Blood Sweat and Tears with Tower of Power, then mixed in some Aretha, The Supremes, and Stevie Wonder, then threw in some Jefferson Airplane with a dash of Joe Walsh, you might get the idea of the Chains Required sound."
